Strategic Product Management
concept vetting + strategic guiding principles
As a member of the ACA Strategic Product Management team, I helped to ideate and vet over 60 product concepts a year. I mainly focused on the concepts related to benefit plan design, enterprise pharmacy, and member incentives/engagement. Some successfully launched products to highlight:
Texas MyBlue Health narrow HMO network in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston. This product became one of the lowest cost options on the market and resulted in successful membership numbers.
Low Dollar Generic Drug program in all Texas networks. This product was a competitive move in partnership with the marketing team to highlight Generic drugs offered on all products for $5 or less. We saw increased Rx engagement on these plans.
Member Rewards Program Pilot in Chicago. This product was a response to a market trend of member incentive programs as well as an effort to increase member engagement scores with one of our narrow Chicago networks. It offers a $25 gift card reward for members who go to their yearly primary care check-up. This product is set to launch in 2023

product road map
Along with my team members, I helped to create the ACA Product Line's first official product line road map. This roadmap outlined the five year strategy for the ACA product portfolio highlighting product plan design, virtual care, member incentives and engagement, and pharmacy. The creation of this road map helped to drive efficient research and concept validation efforts, product feature prioritization, as well as financial planning (not shown for confidentiality purposes).
quantitative research
Below is a redacted screenshot of the dynamic membership dashboard I built from scratch with raw membership data. This is the first membership dashboard created specifically for our ACA Strategic Product team that measures membership by product line/type as well as benefit plan design. This was used for strategic product design analyses and executive reports.

qualitative research
I created and managed the ACA Product team's first iteration of competitive profiles. Below is screenshot of three competitors for three of five states. I generated over 35 of these competitive profiles that were vital components of the team's preliminary market research and concept vetting research.

development cycle management
The ACA product strategy and design cycle takes a little under a year and half. The team did not have an efficient way to track the 100+ tasks and deliverables. I created and managed the team's first ever Gantt chart and task board that organized all workstreams and responsible parties. Below is a screenshot of a four month window within the cycle.

low fidelity wireframes
Referring to the Members Rewards Program concept described above, I created low fidelity wireframes for an application that would help our members manage their healthy actions and cash rewards. These simple mock-ups help to convey the intention behind the concept as well as cultivate discussions with stakeholders throughout the company.
